Personal testimony
Bart Geraets
Bart Geraets has always been entrepreneurial, but he’s a late bloomer when it comes to founding his own business. He’s worked in social enterprises, including overseeing the recycling of electronics and helping establish a healthcare technology center at the University of Antwerp. In 2012, a technology experiment gone awry – a perfect example of serendipity – led him to co-found IPEE, a company that develops water-saving technology for sanitary systems. Today, IPEE’s products are used across Europe, the UK, and parts of Asia, with Singapore as its home base. IPEE has become a leader in monitoring and conserving water in sanitary applications. Through IPEE, Bart experienced the ups and downs of turning a passion into a global business. Now, after stepping away from IPEE, he’s on a sabbatical, reflecting and exploring new ideas.
